Welcome to HMC! We are delighted that you have decided to undertake your studies at Habari Maalum College or that you are considering doing so. This website describes the range of our courses and different activities done at the College which will give you a flavor of life on our campus. Habari Maalum College is a unique community of students and staff dedicated to bringing Excellence in Competence and Practice. The college aims at providing high-quality education to trainees through competency-based training, in order to develop knowledgeable, skilled, and transformed individuals having the ability to demonstrate excellence in profession and practice.
Habari Maalum College which is registered and accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) offers a Certificate and Diploma in Media Production as well as a Certificate and Diploma in Leadership and Management. All courses embody our vision as a center for Excellence in Competence and Practice. The course in Media Production enables students to be multipurpose media producers. This means they are trained to become technicians, presenters, journalists, producers, and effective communicators.
This course will develop media communicators, who are opinion-makers in the society to communicate the Good News of peace, reconciliation, and stability in the Continent of Africa The course in leadership and Management develops students’ abilities to work with and through other people to accomplish Leadership and Management related ministry goals and to disciple their own workers or colleagues. The course also builds students’ competencies in becoming entrepreneurs who can plan and manage their own businesses. The course focuses on Leadership and Management with an emphasis on personal transformation for emerging leaders in Africa. It is designed not only to enhance the leadership knowledge and skills but to help the student start a transformation process that will lead him /her to be a leader of integrity in Africa. It has always been said that the greatest need in Africa is for skilled leaders of integrity who can spearhead the spiritual, social, moral, and economic transformation of the continent. We are convinced that this college exists to develop such leaders. We invite you to take the time to have a look at the range of courses we offer to suit your availability and pace of learning. In addition to the diploma courses, we will hold short seminars to enrich the perceptions and actions of civil society and development actors in relation to some of the trends that are informing current development policy. We encourage you to explore these seminars and gain from the difference this avenue of learning can bring at the individual and institutional levels.
